  1. Axe Murderer Said,

    @Liso

Sometimes, in fact pretty often, a game will start out great. Plenty of good ideas and well done. Typical because builders often have much more motivation and creativity when they start a project than when they get near the end. However as it progresses along it gets less and less interesting or more and more repetitive. I may love it at first — good unique concept, interesting dialog etc — then at some point start to get bored by it or start running into bugs. Maybe the author didn’t develop the story well and it stalled or got bogged down dwelling on some unimportant thing in the middle. In NWN with the vast array of alternatives around it should not surprise you that people will abandon a mod like that in the middle to go find something that better suits them…

As an example…I’m not a fan of character romances at all. There have been several mods that I started which had a descent adventure story and good action then at some point in the middle got hung up having to deal with some silly romantic subplot or politically motivated gender preference (or ) propaganda inserted. So I bailed

Axe doesn’t like real-life creeping into his fantasies.

  10. rat Said,

Yet another quality show. I have a 100th show question. Since you folks (a long list here) have been putting on this show for 100 episodes for us the community, what have each of you gotten out of doing this show?

Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 2:56 pm

  11. rat Said,

and don’t say “the money”, because everybody says “the money”……LOL!!

  12. Dragonstar Said,

Good show! Glad to see another PW doing well with great plans!

Michelle, I haven’t finished the OC in any of the NWN series, although I’ve played them all up to the end. I just never was able to beat the end bosses. OR I’ve gotten bored and had an “Oooooh, SHINEY!” moment with something else.

Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 3:44 pm

  13. Dragonstar Said,

Oh, yeah! If NWN2 dwarves had REAL dwarf beards (as in long and tuck ‘em inta th’ belt), I might actually get my builder-with-the-soul-of-a-dwarf back. As it stands now, he snorts, spits over the wall, and keeps walking!

    Dragonstar

I have a lot of those “shiny distractions” So I can relate! hehe Thanks for the feedback!

  18. Eat2surf Said,

I think most of our listeners already know we ain’t paid a dime.. not a thin one.. not a thick one.. not a dime… nor merchandise… *sighs with liso*

  19. RoAnnon Said,

I bought a mug and a BBQ apron… I’m spending money on the podcast.. :)

Posted on March 2nd, 2009 at 11:35 pm

  20. Eat2surf Said,

Yes thanks, RoAnnon!! I hear StrikerB put up a big hunk too!! Thanks for all!! I’m not part of that bit of the podcast.. The crew is smart enough not to have me in charge of paying bills! I was just letting people know that any money that does find its way here (thanks again!!) goes straight to server hosts, etc.. Ya know.. maybe we’d drum up more donations if we put a cost sheet up.. and put up the plans of what we could/would do with the money.. and let people earmark donations?

Speaking of what we’ve done.. has everyone checked out the vidcast that Skunk’s runnin’ .. it’s not just that one video up in the corner.. there are a lot of vids up there.

Ok.. gotta run and get some coffee… hmm.. where’s my mug… hmm.. CafePress anyone?

  21. WesLAN Said,

I play with a top-down view when playing on Neverwinter Nights, I simply can’t play it as over the shoulder, but I still use the “w,a,s,d” keys to move

Posted on March 5th, 2009 at 12:39 pm

  22. Liso Said,

WesLAN - I actually play both. top-down when I am trying to scout areas because I am directionally inept! lol And over thw shoulder because aim is better for me. That doesn’t really apply to nwn2. but in several games it does.

Posted on March 5th, 2009 at 7:02 pm

  23. Eat2surf Said,

@Liso.. I can buy games and not finish them.. because I like to build… and as soon as I get to something that makes me lose my “suspension of disbelief” I drop the game and start to build.

Posted on March 5th, 2009 at 10:18 pm

  24. Eat2surf Said,

All this talk of other games.. has anyone out there written a hack so I can use my Wii balance board to control my NWN avatar and the numchucks to swing my sword?

Posted on March 5th, 2009 at 10:22 pm

  25. ffbj Said,

I liked Gallows Bird. It’s cool to hear all the lovely accents. Was that a reference to Behind the Green Door? Coming from Skunk my guess is yes. Good for you Ashercon in not watching it.
I can not claim so much virtue myself. So more ammunition for my characterizations.

  26. sirchet Said,
