This is very interesting I think. This PW server will open to the public at the end of the month. Just look at their screenhots on their homepage:

They are amazing. This is not Neverwinter Nights anymore hehe. It looks like a completely different game. Theese screenshots can be used to market the game to people who think this game is old!

Unfortunately it seems to be a very hardcore roleplaying server. Not my bag really. I am hoping to take a look though. Maybe I get hooked

Wake is going to be removed it seems.

The fashion it went down wasn't very pretty. I guess some servers where you have enforced roleplaying gets a lot of built up tension/drama..lol

What happened?

The usual...

...when the admin team announced that the server was going to shut down that opened up the floodgate of frustration between players...

...seems there is a lot going on under the surface on a roleplay enforced server...guess people have different thoughts on what roleplaying is and it is a shame that all that surfaces when it is over.

Unfortunately I think there is a big chance you will have this on any server where you kind of try to force a version of roleplaying...where any kind of OOC talk is suppressed...then you have the risk of getting it later...

I'm always amazed at how close-minded people can be... even when someone can accept making believe they are a fantasy character in a made up world...

Hopefully they'll make their work available for others to benefit from.

Well..it was not the admins fault I think...even if some locked threads in the forum didn't help...when some players where actually trying to speak...

It is the players that are kind of drama queens. They love forming into "cliques" it seem...and that irriteted some others...quite understandable...

In a perma death server you don't want to die just because some kids decided it was ok to "pwn" you...

there is a whole slew of politics that can take place to shut down a server. No PW I know would even publicly talk about em. But I think we can go there and have the contacts to relay such second hand. I'm talking about servers in their prime with 20 or more some players 24/7. I believe that is the high life mark of a PW server. At that point your too busy to keep up with much else going on.

Yup, Marc's right. Lots of stuff can make an enforced RP server go belly-up. There has to be a happy medium amidst and betwixt all of that "stuff".
